Two guests in yellow IKEA jackets at podcast microphones, alongside the question “Trainee or founder: why not both?” and the logo of Startup Contacts Münster.

Younes Sakali serves as Market Manager of the IKEA store in Kamen. He started there as a student working at the cash register, and now he's responsible for the whole store. Joining him is David Kittel-Hellriegel, who after eleven years as a freelancer moved to IKEA and now works on the Kamen team.

In this episode of the Startup Contacts podcast, the two share how much entrepreneurial spirit lives inside a global corporation and why a corporate career and a founder mindset don’t have to be at odds.

What it’s about

  • how Younes went from the cash register to market management
  • why David took the leap into a corporation after eleven years of freelancing
  • how much creative freedom you really have at IKEA
