Finally, the moment arrived! On Saturday, July 2, 2022, the teams of the Kickstart Weekend 2022 presented their amazing startup ideas to the audience in the PSD Bank during the Final Pitch. It's hard to believe what the five fantastic teams accomplished during the four days of the Kickstart Weekend. But let's start at the beginning!
On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, the four‑day event kicked off with a kickoff at the Digital Hub Münsterland. About 20 entrepreneurship‑enthusiastic participants from all sorts of backgrounds got to know each other during a relaxed evening at the Digital Hub Münsterland. The participants' excitement for the days ahead was huge!
Many of the aspiring founders already had great startup ideas before the weekend that they wanted to develop further over the weekend. But even starting the weekend without an idea shouldn't be a problem. During the first workshop on idea generation, Pia Bönnemann presented eight relevant problems of our time, and the other participants quickly came up with their own solutions. In no time, five teams formed, diving into the challenge with full enthusiasm.
Exciting Lecture Series
In the next three days, exciting workshops followed on Problem‑Solution Fit, Minimum Viable Product, Funding & Monetization, Mission & Vision, and pitch training. The workshops were led by high‑profile speakers such as Max Linden, Elias Weike, and Niclas Cox. In between, the teams continued working on their ideas and applied what they had just learned. Even during the group phase, our speakers kept supporting the participants and provided individual guidance.
“What helped us the most was the feedback from the coaches. Whenever we had questions, we could turn to them at any time! That was incredibly valuable!”
The workshop series was rounded off on Saturday morning with a pitch training by Max Linden (lemonmarkets) and Florian Dostert (Syntinels). The two didn’t always agree on the best path to the goal, but that’s exactly what made their presentation so helpful. They showed the participants that there isn’t just one right way to reach the goal.
So that was the Final Pitch of the Kickstart Weekend
And then the big moment finally arrived! Up until the last minute before the pitch, the teams were still polishing their slides and presentation. The audience and the jury were already eagerly waiting for the teams’ pitches. For the participants, too, the pitch was the highlight of the Kickstart Weekend.
The opening act was the team “Thats what i want”. You’ve probably spent ages searching your favorite online shop for the perfect top, right? That’s exactly where this team’s idea comes in. With just a literal description of your vision, your dream top will be shown to you.
Next up was Sven’s team from U‑Sport. You want to meet up for a game outside, but can only find five people who are also interested? No problem—U‑Sport’s digital solution helps you quickly find the rest of your crew.
Then came the pitch from “Cofi”, which turns the coffee grounds left in your cup into a wooden substitute. Maybe you’ll soon have coffee‑made furniture in your apartment.
Stress in everyday life? The team behind “BuddyTalk” knows it well and wants to help you quickly and anonymously. Through an app, you always have the option to share your feelings with your buddy or in groups.
Maybe you’re sitting at your desk right now and have back pain after a long day. The team “MindBack” has a solution for that. They offer an app that gives you a chance to prevent back pain.
Big respect to all the teams! Unfortunately, there can only be one winner of the Kickstart Weekend, and this year it was the MindBack team! The three founders won a trip to Berlin with a visit to the startup Lemonmarkets.
The Kickstart Weekend was relaxed and wrapped up with many exciting conversations on the PSD Bank rooftop terrace.
