On November 22, 2024, the fourth Female Founders Friday (FFF) took place.
Again, we had the chance to listen to three founders as they shared their founding experiences and startups. Julia and Tara from Labim as well as Marie from Malunt shared their unique stories and experiences with us.
Labim, founded in 2021 in Münster by friends Julia and Tara, is dedicated to deep well‑being and satisfaction. They launched their startup with high‑quality porcelain sex toys. Today we can look forward to additional products and materials. As trained carpenters, they design their products themselves and place great emphasis on sustainability and fair production conditions. Their goal is to motivate people to talk openly about sexuality, body relationships, boundaries and desires. They believe that conversations about such topics can be like giving flowers—a gesture of joy and appreciation.
Marie, the founder of Malunt, is a passionate chef and nutrition scientist. She developed vegetable bars to make healthy eating easier and tastier. Despite setbacks, she stayed true to her vision and successfully brought Malunt to market. Her mission is to positively influence people’s lifestyle and nutrition and to help prevent disease.
The evening provided space for open discussions and inspired with personal insights into the challenges and successes of the founders. With the FFF we aim to empower female founders and address the gender gap in the startup scene. According to the latest German Startup Monitor 2024, the share of women among German startup founders dropped this year from 20.7 % to 18.8 %—making platforms that encourage women in the startup ecosystem even more important. It is also important to us to create a trustworthy personal space for everyone and all questions. Mareen, Jale and Emma organized the evening together and guided us throughout.
