Our Startup Tour Recap!

From Paris via München to Barcelona - our previous startup tours have been a great success. This semester, we headed to the capital of Denmark.

Join us on our exciting journey through Copenhagen and dive into the world of Denmark's most innovative startups.

Day 1: Insights into blockchain and Copenhagen's digital ecosystem!

After a fun ride, we arrived a bit tired but full of anticipation. The first day in Copenhagen kicks off right away with a unicorn.

As a leading company in crypto analysis, Chainalysis offers advanced tools and insights to meet compliance requirements, combat fraud, and ensure security in the cryptocurrency space.

Gerd Behrmann, Chief Engineer at Chainalysis, shared the backstory of the €8 billion startup and gave us a clear, approachable look at its otherwise very complex product!

Next, we headed to the Blox Hub, a co‑working space in the heart of Copenhagen. We were welcomed by DigitalLead, Denmark's cluster for digital companies.

The accelerator and hub founded in 2021 supports digital startups in scaling and creates a space for exchange for its 300+ members. Many thanks to Andreas Greve, Zaynab Al-Hussaini and Sidsel Bülow for the great introduction!

After the second visit, it was time for sightseeing. The groups split up and roamed through Copenhagen's many beautiful neighborhoods. Just before sunset, the obligatory group photo was on the agenda! The locals know where we were.

The evening began with a friendly get‑together at the hostel. But that wasn’t the end. Just before midnight, the association headed to a popular Irish pub with a dance floor and great vibes. Together we celebrated the first successful visits and officially kicked off the week in Copenhagen.

Day 2: Delicious food, even better startups.

The second day in Copenhagen also kicked off right away with a startup. In the morning we headed together into the city center. There we visited Dixa, a startup that provides omnichannel customer service.

We were welcomed by Ingrid Harrild Eriksen, for a very tasty breakfast. After a brief office tour, the co‑CEO, Christian Lohmann, impressed us with a talk and a Q&A session. We also learned in two additional talks, from Søren Hybler and Kim Fentz Anderson , about their marketing & sales strategy and the product itself.

In the afternoon we continued at Pleo, a provider of corporate credit cards.

A lunch was organized for us there, and we got to meet the co‑founder, Niccolo Perra,. Afterwards, the sales dream team, Lukas and Sofia, demonstrated the product in the app. To wrap up, Gilles Jeronymos, Culture and Employee Experience Manager at Pleo, shared fascinating insights on belonging in a company.

We wrapped up the day as the whole association at Gasoline Grill, where we enjoyed the award‑winning burger.

Day 3: The loudest Bluetooth performance speaker.

Since we only visited a startup after lunch today, some used the morning to catch up on sleep, others sampled the many bakeries in Copenhagen, or spent the free time sightseeing around the city.

At lunchtime we were then invited to Soundboks invited, where the co‑founder Jesper Thomsen gave us an in‑depth look at the founding story and talked about his time at Y Combinator . The Y Combinator is one of the most important accelerators in the world, where only 1–2% of applicants are accepted each year.

Caught up in the vibe at the company, we headed out to wind down the evening. While the first ones returned to the lodging, some used the remaining hours to take another look around Copenhagen or grab a bite to eat. Either way, we made good use of the final day and let the Startup Tour end on a perfect note.

Day 4: Copenhagen, it was beautiful!

A huge thank‑you to everyone who made this experience possible – from the meticulous planning, the startups that shared their personal success stories, to the members who shaped this trip.

This trip not only broadened our understanding of entrepreneurship, but also strengthened the importance of collaboration and exchange within the association.

We look forward to bringing the insights and ideas we gained into future projects and continuing to grow together.
